Volunteers FAQs

How does the volunteer process work?

The first step is to sign up via the online form. Of course, it is important for us to assign a task that suits your interests and qualifications. That’s why we get in touch with every volunteer to find the right job for you. The respective department leaders will then prepare you with specific information for your tasks at the the World Championship.

What do I get for my Volunteer assignment?

The reward of every volunteer is the experience of being up close. The look behind the scenes is only allowed to those who actively participate. No viewer enjoys this privilege.

In addition, each volunteer receives the following benefits:

  • Volunteer clothing in WC design
  • Free entrance on all event days for the standing grandstand
  • Food and drinks during your shift
  • Volunteer Certificate

What’s the deadline for the volunteer registration?

The registration period runs until Thursday, May 31st and is exclusively via the online form on our homepage.

How will I be prepared for my tasks?

The volunteer training takes place online and with written documents by the respective department head. One day before the event start, we will have a Volunteer-Meeting where we provide the core information that everybody needs to know and hand out the clothing. On the day of the assignment there is a brief discussion for each work area before each shift and in case you didn’t receive the official clothing it will be given to you at that time.

Are there discounted or free tickets for volunteers?

With the accreditation, volunteers receive free access to the event area and the standing grandstand for all event days.

What happens to the information entered in the registration form?

The personal details in the staff questionnaire are required to carry out a fair selection procedure for an activity at the Women’s World Championship. The data is used exclusively to plan your assignment and is included in the address file of the OC offices. They are only accessible to the employees of the OC and the department heads. The volunteer agrees to the submission of his personal record. A passing on to third does not take place.

Is there a private accommodation for volunteers?

Travel and accommodation costs are not refundable. Each volunteer must pay for his / her own travel and accommodation.

How do I get to the event area?

The school center Auhof is publicly accessible by trams 1 and 2 (last stop “University”). From there it is only 100m to the event area. Additional parking spaces are available at the university campus.

How long does a Volunteer shift take?

There are two shifts on event days. Morning shift (about 9:00-15:30) and afternoon shift (about 15:00-21:00). Please note that you should be at the Volunteer Meeting Point 30 minutes before the start for the issue of clothing and brief information.

Is there a minimum age for volunteers?
