Recap

On the swet ground, the focus is on the service – Dominika Frydrych for Poland and Melanie Vannoort score with almost every ball. In the end, Poland wins the first set 11:8.
The second set starts with a 2:1 lead for New Zealand. After two service errors, Poland leads and is on the way to win the set. New Zealand shortened with two points at 5:9, but then Poland also made the second set win perfect.
Well-balanced in the third round. At 5:3, Poland are in front for the first time with two points. Dominika Frydrych fended off New Zealand’s attacks to close the gap again at 11:7 and is also in the Double Elimination.

Agata Józefowicz (POL): Today was an interesting day because the playing system changed from two to three winning sets. We are already familiar with this mode because many of us also play volleyball. Luckily, we won 3:0 and can save some energy for the up-coming games. We are just really happy that we won and are able to continue gaining more experience.

Annelise Oosterbaan (NZL): I think it was good for us to have the opportunity to play more sets because we wanted to fight. Even after we were two sets down we thought “Come on, we still got a chance. We can do this!” It was a fantastic match, the Polish girls are incredibly good. We are disappointed, but we are so happy with how we played.
