Recap
Sovereign opening victory for the defending champion. Coach Silke Eber’s team doesn’t have to make much of an effort against the neighbouring country. The defense is secure, the offensive is effective. The Czech Republic only scored two points in the two sets.
Aniko Müller (GER): In general, the first game is always a little bit of a challenge. We have to get used to the conditions: the wind, the court-soil, and the sun, of course. We did not really know any of the players from the Czech Republic, which was a little bit of a challenge. We used this match to work on our teamwork and team-communication. This worked rather well apart from a few miscommunications among the attackers.
Natalie Faltysova (CZE): We played as well as we could against Germany, but they are just too good. However, we imporved our performance compared to the first match.
